   I put this on my helmet and it does the job. BRIGHT, this thing is able to light up the entire room and provide a narrow beam of highly concentrated light to cut through medium smoke conditions. DURABLE, it takes a beating but makes it through without anything but a few scratches. GREAT VALUE, it runs on batteries that I can buy from the store unlike some of the other FF helmet lights that require specialized batteries that are pricy.

   Caution: The material is tough and probably could withstand some heat but I think 500F for 5mins would kill it so be weary of that and keep your head low.

   The light itself is awesome. It was advertised to come with a rubber strap and a blackjack mount. It arrived in a factory sealed blister pack and it had the rubber strap, lanyard, keyring, and a streamlight mount. This was disappointing as that wasn’t what was advertised. The streamlight mount has a huge knob that seems to get in my way as I move my goggles and chin strap around. The rubber strap worked well for me, so I call it a win and I’ll trade/gift the mount to somebody that will use it….. The knob on the streamlight is about the size of a nickel

   I have used different lights in the past and pay much more for them.This light was bought to replace the other one (the same model) and performs excelent. I used the rubber helmet strap that came with the kit and it holds it well and stands up to the heat well, however direct flame contact melted the strap an damage the light as well as my helmet. However there is a metal strap that will hold the light and I still like the light and will keep using it.

   This is a great light to use as a helmet light. I used the bracket to attach it to my fire helmet. Extremely bright. The large button on the back is easy to operate even with gloves on.
