I throw this bad boy over my shoulders during Search & Rescue operations in the woods. Believe me when I say – it floods the ENTIRE area around me. In fact, first time I ever switched it on upon entering woods for a search I vividly remember saying to myself, “this is ridiculous…!) It seemed as if a car with it’s high beams on were following right behind me. No joke. It made the searching so much more easy not having to worry about where to point a (directional) flashlight. If we needed to flood an area of light on a search, my other team members would yell at me, “Hey, bring the sun over here!” Great and long lasting charge. Not too heavy to carry around your shoulder while hiking through woods with a 30lb pack. I’m never going out on a night search without it.

Light and mount are sturdy / well made. But I was in the market for a powerful light. I received the item no problem and let it go through its first charge. Turned on the light and was totally underwhelmed. Not only is there not a long throw with the ‘focused’ beam, but the immediate area flood is more like a nightlight. I hit my EagleTac D25C to compare; it’s advertised at about 300 lumen in a 3″ package (it’s an EDC for me). The EagleTac vs. the Streamlight (advertised 615 lumen) resulted in the EagleTac beam drowning out the Streamlight. I even pulled the panel to make sure the jumper wasn’t on the low power setting as I was so shocked by this thing’s lack of power. I’ve had other Streamlight products that could give you a sun tan, but this thing is all about having ‘some’ light but for a long period of time.

Excellent, gives lots of light. I purchased this to use in a storage facility that has no light in the units. I tried for almost a year to find a product, besides a lantern that would work without electricity, and was told at every store there was nothing available. I found this item while searching the internet and telephoned the manufacturer to learn more about it. It gives lots of light and when I can afford more I will purchase more because this would be great in times lost power or if you have an emergency on the road. I would like to have one just for the car. For me, it’s heavy, but worth it. It has a substantial strap that hooks on so it can be carried on your shoulder.

streamlightoutlet.com’s product description is not accurate. This model (45801 Litebox) does NOT have the blue taillights and its material is listed as ABS plastic. The owner’s manual describes features that are on the FIREBOX lanterns only, but streamlightoutlet.com says they’re on this model. I searched the site for “Streamlight Firebox” and found model 45811 Firebox, which is made of ABS Thermoplastic and has the taillights.
Bottom line: This is a Litebox, and the fire version (if you want it) is the Firebox — also sold and shipped by streamlightoutlet.com, for around $20 more (at the time of this review.)
Aside from that confusion, this seems like a great product for home, car/truck, camping, or industry (I just got it today.) I wanted a fire lantern, so I ordered the Firebox and will be returning this Litebox.

It works.

I used this product when I bought it in March 2019, then I used it again in 2021, but it was malfunctioning and difficult to get to work, now in 2023 it won’t work at all. I would expect to get more than a few uses from a product that cost this much. What a rip off.

I was lucky enough to have been introduced to this item through work…..it is everything! super bright, durable, the battery last FOREVER! well not really but i have used it from dusk till dawn and there was still a tone of juice left! my work one is three years old and I use it a ton. very stable with a good weight so it wont tip over easily and the lens position is fully adjustable finally decided to spend the money and get one for my house! during a blackout i placed it in my central hallway and this bad boy lit it up along with all the connected rooms very well! at work we have used a few of them together, placed on-top of our trucks as flood lamps, to light up emergency job sites, so needless to say highly recommended!!
