   I like it because the length is good, it fits in the pocket well but at times it can stick out a little more than I like. The clip is good and holds tension well. It has a removable cap to project the light in a little more focused manner and it seems to have exceptional battery life with the 3 AAAA batteries. I like it but if I’m going to be honest I prefer the Coast A9R just because of the way the light is dispersed. The only thing I can say to counter that choice is that the rubber off/on cap on the coast flashlight will tend to fall out if rubbed across a shirt too hard rendering it useless. While the Streamlights cap is well thought out and feels good in the hand. I like this light as a backup.

   As an acupuncturist, part of the diagnostic process is to look at the tongue, the only muscle of the body that is visible. This queues you in to the quality of blood flow in the body, as well as the state of digestive health. Having a pen light to observe the tongue is a big bonus and helps you to be as accurate as possible.

   This pen light is sturdy and easy to use, and on that merit, I recommend it. However, the light has a slightly bluish cast to it, which can hide some of the tongue’s finer coloration; thus 4 rather than 5 stars are given.

   This is my second one, the first was dissabled by a leaking cell after 12 years of daily use. Very strong construction, has withstood drops etc with no problems and the batteries last for years, this was the reason they leaked, should have checked them yearly! Excellent light output, very even spread. Tip.. if the press button gets a little intermittent, unscrew the end cap and lightly abrade the end of the brass sleeve at the end of the main tube, it tarnishes over time, and thats it. Well recomended torch.

   I bought this pen light in ’09 and it has gotten a lot of use. It still works well. The only con for me is it’s the only item I own that uses AAAA batteries! I was just trying to buy these batteries at the grocery store and they didn’t carry them. That’s why I’m here. I am going to buy another penlight to make the battery purchase worthwhile. 😉 I have some Streamlights with the push button “on”. The one featured here turns on with a twist. This on has lasted 2-3x longer than the push button lights since the button fails eventually.

   Jan ’25. button on the top starting to stick and won’t always depress. This little light has lasted a long time and has been used at least weekly. Not daily. It’s worked flawlessly for me for 15 yrs.

   Everyone should have one of these, and as someone who can tell, this is way brighter than what the family doctor would whip out to look in your ear. The AAAA battery type may be new to the uninitiated, but its is a special flashlight and you will appreciate the difference.

    Nice bright light and sleek, however there is no clear instructions on how to keep the constant on setting….thankfully another review listed is, and YES it would be nice to have the button actually do this rather than having to turn the end…..but again….there aren’t even instructions.
