   I bought one of these despite some of the negative reviews because it has all the features I want and am glad I did. For the price it’s a good, compact, well functioning light…that uses common “junk drawer” batteries, and has a built-in hat clip. The adjustable beam feature turns out to be a bonus I wasn’t expecting in that it is quite effective for such a small lamp. I like that I can widen the beam for working on gear in my lap, or focus to a tight beam to throw more light further. The battery compartment door is indeed flimsy, and I expect the tang that secures the tilting mechanism will eventually snap off. The hat clip (which is the primary feature for me) also feels like it may eventually fail – as it’s pretty tight slipping over the bill of a standard ball cap. But for the price I will be happy if it makes it through a year of fishing trips, and I’m going to buy a couple more now.

   Headlamp broke within 3 weeks. The battery clip broke while installing new batteries and I had to tape together with duct tape so the batteries wouldn’t fall out. Its poorly made.

   This is my 4th light, the other three have been globbed onto by sticky fingers in the family! These lights are bright and are great for completing a task that needs to hands. We use the lights around the camp site, to and from the showers, hiking to and from deer stands. I use it while working under the truck, these things are indispensable when it comes to hooking up wires behind a desk for your computer network or home entertainment system. I give this a four star because it does not have the top head strap which goes over the top of skull. Maybe that is a different model, and I didn’t notice when ordering, my other three lights which are close to 6 years old have the top head strap which I really like. Not having that band is not a deal breaker for me, this light is a great buy for the price. Very light weight as well.

   For several years my boyfiend had joked that he needed a miners helmet to work in some confined spaces in which he needed to use his hands such as wiring behind computer systems or behind other obstacles. As a joke I obtained this light as it was the closest thing that streamlightoutlet.com has to a miner’s helmet. This product is no joke. It has solved many of my boyfriend’s lighting needs whether working on cable arrangement, doing electrical work around the house or trying to find something in a deep cabinet. This light is the ultimate hands-free lighting solution for small projects. Multiple brightness settings allow the light to be flexible to what is needed and not over-brighten when it would be inappropriate (such as working with camera equipment during astrophotography, or working with anything reflective).

   The light cannot function for long periods of time (rated at 12 hours low-light, 6 hours on full) and therefore is probably only suitable to occasional or short-duration use and not for continuous use. It is a great light and works well for its size and cost.

   Mir dient diese Lampe hauptsächlich bei Tätigkeiten am PC bzw. bei Outdooraktivitäten. Im Rahmen dieser Tätigkeitsfelder spielt die Lampe ihr volles Potential aus und besticht durch ihre einfache und intuitive Bedienung! Natürlich darf die Lampe nicht mit Leuchtwundern von FENIX usw. verglichen werden, dies wäre schon durch den Preis alleine nicht gerechtfertigt, doch besticht sie dennoch mit ihrem klaren Lichtbild und den multifunktionalen Anwendungsmöglichkeiten!

   Wer eine Kopflampe für Höhlentouren, Geocaching oder dergleichen sucht, wird sich natürlich etwas “Lichtstärkeres” suchen. Wer allerdings eine Stirnlampe für hin und wieder sowie für weniger aufregende Outdoortätigkeiten sucht, wird hiermit mehr als glücklich werden!

   As others have stated the battery cover clips failed, and the up/down adjustment clicker failed within a few weeks after purchase. ALSO the little foam pad that sits against your forehead came off. Too bad really, because it puts out the perfect amount of light, is frugal with batteries, and has a simple/effective control button with audible positions. Just need a more durable case, or perhaps a one piece case without adjustments. A battery compartment like toys have, with the screw that won’t come out would be perfect. Still use this light, just had to get inventive with its adjustment and battery cover.

    I’ll be upset when these are completely discontinued and impossible to find. Streamlight knows how to get it done, everyone brags about how their light is the brightest and it has 20 modes, smh, for camping or hunting or whatever I like how this one has 2 modes, bright is as bright as it needs to be. It’s comfortable, power button is easy access, can clip to a hat and 2 AAA’s will last a LONG time in this light. I had one for about 10 years and the headband clip finally broke, I couldn’t even complain about it. I bought 3 more because I know these are good quality
