   I’M ONLY A CIVILAIN Admin work is a very important and often overlooked aspect of all the super tactical coolguy training shenanigans. Especially if you have the responsibility to look after people, you are part of a NPP (Neighborhood Protection Plan), you have a Bug out scenario, have to take notes, read maps and navigate, whatever it may be. Chances are being able to see that you are doing in low light without using white light is a huge deal. As anyone who is LE, Military or Contracting knows. Pros: This thing is built like a tank. It’s heavy, sturdy and metal. You know you have this thing in your hand and you know its not going anywhere. The button is stiff so the chances of you NDing light is reduced. But watch you the putting just in case. It’s bright, which is good and bad. Good because you can see what your doing. I’ve had it a few months and still haven’t had to change the batteries, they take AAAA. Like with anything that takes batteries it’s usually a good idea to carry spares on your person. Cons: It’s momentary only, which is kind of a pain in the backside to be honest. So taking notes you may have to have someone hold the light for you, or you can put the pen in your mouth the try to press the button with your tongue. The button is still so my milage was very inconsistent. The light would flicker on and off. It’s bright, the LED shines through the plastic, maybe wrapping some black electrical tape might cut down on that if it’s a problem. (I’m currently out of E-tape so I couldn’t test that). It’s also a lot longer than I thought it would be, shocker that’s a negative, I know. It sticks out of my admin pocket maybe an 8th of an inch. Overall: It will fit inside the admin pocket if I lay it down. But with earplugs, whistle, batteries, pen and sharpie and a notepad all fighting for space in the pocket, laying in down means I would have a hell of a time getting it back out. So I just zip the pocket closed and the zippers keep the pen upright. Opening the pouch it usually stays put unless it get tangled on something. But I honestly just pull it out if I need to grab loose items and put it back when I’m done digging around. Mise on Place, right? Please keep in mind your milage will very on battery life and durability. For the Operational dudes, using this thing off and on every night. You’ll probably have to change your batteries sooner than I will. If it can me being a dumby and beating the crap out of it. It should hold up to a more stressful environment. Glad I bought it, and I think it’s a good investment.

   not sure how much it helps but a dentist suggested this as he uses a much more pwrful cold laser for his pateints. he posted on his site that a 30 usd red laser pen from brand name sretail store would work fin

   but ive found i can over do it and make it worse lol

   but it has held it fine with repeated washing of the tip n still on original battery.

   The red pen light is great for use in low-light environments, such as in theaters when you need to find your way to your seat or to find something on the floor once the lights are out, or also to check on the kids at night while trying to avoid obstacles like toys on the floor and not waking them up. It maintains your eyes in a “night mode” and I find that the red light is far less invasive for other people than a white light in places like theaters, even compared to a dimmed white light. It does not replace a white pen light for many other purposes but I think it is very practical to have a red pen light on hand.

    Works fine when I want a red light to see with. It’s not a very bright light, as the specs up above say. Since the principle time I’ll be using this is under very low light conditions my eyes will be adjusted anyway and that’s fine. One doesn’t really need a hundred lumens then, and if you do? Just go get out your bigger/nastier flashlight.

    If you want a little bit of red light to conserve your night vision, this is an excellent choice.

    Complete letdown, was hoping for a product I could use helping to inspect tunnels for my job. The sleek and sexy look is what originally sold me along with the overall good ratings, but the product I got was a joke.
    The light was weak, with a new battery installed and pointing directly to the ground from my hand (so roughly 2-3 feet away) would just barely dim the floor. The results were dreadful and left the product unusable for me.

    To top that it did not have a constant “ON” option as advertised in the listing. The only way to power the light was a constant pressing the button.

    I wound up returning immediately and am very disappointed with this one.

    Not sure what people misunderstand about the size. It is a penlight. I have used one for years both on the road as an leo for checking eyes, map reading, and small tent light while hunting and a notification light to let other hunters know I am there. The light is quite bright for what it is and lasts quite a while. Very useful

    Nice thin pen light, works well. Button is a little hard to push in (and hold in for light), screw top is a little tight be reassuringly stiff. Light isn’t too bright, but I use this to read maps in the dark, so it works quite well AAAA batteries might be harder to come by, but come included. Other than the stiff button, no complaints.
