   This is the 3rd or 4th spotlight I have purchased. I also have a smaller one from stream light Macrostream as a backup that puts out 1/2 the power but can clip to a ball cap. 1st two flash lights I have given away as a thankyou gift to co-workers that were interested in the light. Biggest thing with the last one was I charged the light without it being totally dry and I burned out 1/2 the usb C port so I can only charge with the charger in one way. Luckily it has protection to stop charging if something is wrong but this is something to keep in mind if you use this light as a daily driver. This light works Excellent for me shipboard wise as a watchstander for me for intermittent use not as a lantern. I care more about seeing my surrounding clearly vs battery life. I’ve never had the battery run our on me standing 8-12 hr. watches even if I forget to charge it once a day. This is a worthwhile investment to keep comfort because it’s slim and powerful. As stated in the instructions, naturally it will get hot fast but not too bad for me as I’ve kept it on sometimes in my pocket but that will drain the battery for 15 minutes of straight use. This is used for me a spotlight, not a lantern. Get something else if your concerned about 24/7 visible viewing. Only thing I wish was better was the rope that comes with it and the clip had a bend to attach to hats or some sort of magnetic base. I’ll still give it 5/5

   Great brightness, durability, and profile for pocket-carrying. However, the tiny screws holding it together have no thread lock coating at all. The clip came loose within a couple weeks, and a few months later I noticed one of the body screws had gone missing.

   I’ve had lot’s of their lights and this one is one of my least favorites. The switch, as opposed to a button, is not a good option. It’s harder to use but it also come on in my pocket a lot. You know it’s on when it starts burning. It’s melted a couple of pairs of shorts. I’m sure it’s great for tactically blinding people but way way way too bright on low for normal use like to see a menu, light up a lock, read something, find something in a darker room, etc. It blinds you and others. A cover for the charge port would be good and the clip should double as a hat clip. It’s tough and the charge is good but outside of purely tactically blinding aggressors, I’ll purchase a different one.

   Great little pocket light. I use it for home inspection business and it does the job perfectly! Very easy to carry in your pocket daily, charge lasts a long time. Pricey but highly recommended.

BUY A USB C PORT PLUG AND YOU WILL BE FINE. WHAT I DIDN’T LOVE IS THE FACT THAT I USED IT TWO WEEKS IN THE FIELD AND THE LIGHT GAVE UP. MY JOB REQUIRES ME TO GET MUDDY AND DIRTY. WHETHER IT BE A WATER MAIN BREAK OR JUST OR DIGGING A HOLE, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING. NOW I KNOW MOST OF YOU WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO JUMP IN A 4 FOOT PUDDLE OF WATER SO IF THAT IS NOT IN YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION, DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT. BUT, IF YOU DO ANY KIND OF PHYSICAL LABOR. THIS IS FOR YOU. I GAVE IT 4 STARS CAUSE IT IS A GREAT FLASHLIGHT. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THIS WILL SERVE YOU WELL AND YOU PROBABLY WON’T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. IF YOU WORK IN AN OFFICE OR JUST EDC IT. BUT IF YOU WORK WITH GRIME AND GRIT, WELL I’M NOT TO SURE YOU SHOULD GET IT. I KNOW THIS FLASHLIGHT IS NOT CLAIMING TO BE A SUREFIRE OR MODLITE. BUT BEING ABLE TO BE USED AFTER BEING SUBMERGED IN SOME MURKY WATER IS A MUST FOR ME.THE IPX7 RATING IS OKAY. I DON’T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE WATER PROOFING. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IF YOU GET ANY LITTLE TINY PARTICULATE IN BETWEEN THE BACK OF THE ROTATING SWITCH AND THE BODY. GOOD LUCK. I HAD TO HAMMER THE BUTTON OUT TO GET IT TO TURN ON AND THEN WHEN I WAS ABLE TO DO THAT THE BUTTON WAS JAMMED ON. I CLEANED IT WITH A SMALL GUN BRUSH THE DAY AFTER AND WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW. NOW WHEN I WOULD SHUT IT OFF. THE LIGHT STAYED ON IN MY POCKET. TO ME IT’S A FATAL FLAW FOR HOW MUCH THIS COST. God FORBID YOU ARE IN A SITUATION WHERE YOU NEED TO DEPEND ON THIS FLASHLIGHT AND, OOPS, THERE YOU GO. THE BUTTON IS JAMMED CAUSE YOU HAD TO ROLL IN THE DIRT A LITTLE EARLIER. TAKE THIS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. YOU MAY HAVE A BETTER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LIGHT THAN I HAVE. YOU MAY GO ON A NICE STROLL WITH IT, TAKE IT OUT TO DINNER, TO THE MOVIES. BUT AS FOR ME, IT IS GETTING RETURNED. COME ON STREAMLIGHT. DO JUST A PINCH BETTER.

    Completed my kit prior to Hurricane Helene hit Florida a few days ago. We had more than 214,000 people in the dark at one point in time. Just made an incredible addition to my tool kit. The matte texture finish provides a great grip. The power dial is oversized and could be used with gloves which is a nice feature. It puts out incredibly bright light on the standard setting. Usb-c charging makes it easy to use these days with everything else moving to usbc. You can wear it IWB. The flat side it won’t roll more like a carpenter pencil. Flat on two sides made it comfortable to carry. Great durability great functionality. I would suggest definitely adding to your belt. Take care out there everyone!

    Gadget guy here, i’ve carried a lot of EDC lights through the years. Surefires, Olights, Nitecores, Streamlights, the list goes on. I switched over to this light coming from a Surefire Stiletto and it’s inferior in almost everyway besides the type C port; Grip, activation button/mechanism, clip orientation. It’s all around a lesser product. Worse yet, the fail point on this item isn’t the “Unprotected” type C port as many anticipated. I knew that likely wouldn’t be a problem, we walk around with an unprotected C port on our phones all day. They’ve had IP68 rating pretty much since conception. The button mechanism has no gasket or seal to it, as it would probably cause issues with its functionality. This grants water/crud an access point to an otherwise perfectly sealed battery and board. In summary, It’s a cute little quirky gimmicky light, as Streamlight has been known to do. I have their little keychain light that I still use from time to time. This is just a bigger version of that in terms of quality. The feel in your hand is “ok” and it’s nice that it has a metal body. The activation switch is a little lame, honestly. One of the worst i’ve used on an EDC light. I can’t really say it’s built to withstand the rigors of real and hard EDC use given the failure point. And of course, as soon as you pop the screws off to even investigate what the problem might be, your warranty is void. With its failure, i’ve replaced it with a Nitecore EDC that’s a proper competitor to the Surefire Stilleto. But this isn’t a review for either of those.

    I lean toward Streamlight’s products, as they tend to have very high quality lights, made properly for their intended use and are (comparatively) reasonably priced. In my experience a cheap light will always disappoint, especially when it’s cold, dark and scary. I’ve never had a Streamlight fail (outright) and they’ve made a lot of design progress since the old “SL-20” days. (BTW, I still have two of those, they still work and Streamlight still stands behind the warranty of these 30+ year old light’s switches!) So I pried open my wallet and once the moths and dust cleared away, I dropped $86 on the Wedge. It is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best EDC light I have ever owned. It is feature rich while still being simple…and thankfully is devoid of that ridiculous strobe function found on so many (cheap and expensive) lights. You can place the clasp on either side, slide this ergonomically shaped light into your pocket and forget about it, until you need it. It is far more comfortable than the standard cylindrical lights and is the perfect partner for an EDC pocket knife. I attached a pic with the Wedge next to a pen for size reference – it’s longer than my other EDC lights but the shape just fits much more comfortably into my pocket, so I would suggest you don’t worry about the length of the light ruining your ability to sit, drive or run with the Wedge in your pocket. Toughest decision is color, that’s it. I highly recommend this light for EDC or backup light carry (professionals and emergency service personnel). Heck, buy two – because we all know that with lights, “one is none and two is one.”
