   Great little flashlight. I used the clip to mount it to the shoulder of my ballistic vest. Works great as an auxilliary lamp for reading/writing in the dark (especially with the red light). The white light on the highest setting is also surprisingly bright, considering the lower lumen rating. Always nice to have a backup light in case the handheld dies in the middle of a stressful event. I own many Streamlight products and have put all of them through hell. None of them have ever broken or failed me in any way. I’ve only had this one for about a month, but I expect no less from this product. Please note, while I said the light does produce an impressive amount of light, it is significantly less than the larger handheld LEDs. Nonetheless, I would recommend this light to anyone needing a mountable light for any sort of tactical application.

   I bought this for camping in harsh environments that require durable equipment. I like the multiple battery option, being able to run on a AA came in handy, however, after a little over 1 year of occasional use it failed internally. I pushed the button to turn on the light one night, and felt a slight click, but nothing happened, after this pushing the button felt squishy, and the light would not turn on. Of course this happened in the wilderness in the middle of the night (I had a backup). When I got back from the wilderness I contacted Streamlight Support. The Streamlight website […] says their products have a limited lifetime warranty, however the warranty department told me the Sidewinder 2 only has a 1 year warranty. When I asked how much they would charge to repair the light they said it would cost as much as a new light. I guess limited lifetime means 1 year? Knowing that I now own an expensive piece of garbage I decided to take it apart to see if I could fix it. When I removed the 4 screws that hold the lens on to access the button that was not doing anything, what I found looked like a quality/design problem. The Micro switch that is depressed when the operator presses the button had come off the circuit board (picture attached). I don’t know if this is a common thing, but I’ve never had this problem with a Petzl headlamp, so I think I’m going back to Petzl. If anyone from Streamlight is reading this, I wanted to like your product as you market this as something for military and industrial use, it’s a terrible shame that you don’t stand behind your product and I hope no one ever has the same failure I had in a situation that results in loss of human life. Marketing your product as “Made in USA” and “Limited Lifetime Warranty” should mean more than an expensive disposable piece of gear. I will never buy another one of your products. So for this price point, due to the poor support and marginal reliability I would not recommend this product.

   This is an awesome headlamp that has a built in clip, comes with a helment mounting plate and has 4 colors. I use it all the time and can’t live without it now. I’m also a huge fan of the larger model: B001605SZ0 Updated: September 30, 2015 I loved this headlamp but the button inside the housing has broken off the board. Service said it’s not covered so I’m out an $80 light. Other than this issue, I loved the light and all my other Streamlight products.

   This SKU seemingly has no provision to mount on an ARC rail, which makes it completely useless for me. Worse, the piece of plastic that retains the clip immediately came off and won’t go back on. Overall, this was a complete waste of money and offers nothing. I did check the IR with my NODs, works fine.

    This has turned out to be a very useful headlight. Originally i bought this to mount on a helmet for my night vision monocular for supplemental IR illumination,and the red light function (which it works very well for, with the swivel mount it came with), but also mounted on the headband, it is my go-to light for general tasks. Can use AAA, AA, and CR123 batteries. I am actually using rechargeable Nitecore RCR123A batteries in this with no problems at all, as i’m tired of throwing out old batteries, and ones that leak etc. The white light is a lot brighter and shines further than i expected when turned up, more than enough IMO. The red light is useful for seeing and preserving your natural night vision and be less visible to others. The blue light is similar to a lesser degree, but gives you very good definition, and can highlight certain things. The IR light is totally invisible to the naked eye viewed head on, and is great under night vision. The only real negative I can see is this thing is a little on the pricey side.(probably due to its military sales etc) But I decided to cry once, and I haven’t regretted it.

    Great mini flashlight love the headband strap easy to work with multiple settings and brightness very well. Made sturdy should last a long time. I personally love it. It’s great for the outdoors camping hiking.

    This is one of the more versitile lights I’ve owned and I’ve had many over the years. This is a daily carry light for me and I generally pull it off my belt for use at least once daily. I love the fact that if I’m out of CR123 batteries that I can just pop in a AA and I’m back in business. I lost this light a month ago and gave up hope after retracing my steps on the day of the loss. I ordered an Olight to replace my missing sidewinder and on the very day my new light arrived I found my missing sidewinder outside on my dirt/gravel driveway. The belt clip was bent a little and I could tell it had probably been ran over several times but to my surprise it still works perfectly. The sidewinder in my opinion is a very well made product and I feel my investment was worth the price I paid.
