   The “pathway” light is very useful in a power outage getting around the house, or outside in the dark. If you need the bright, spot beam in addition, or by itself, it is good for that purpose also. My new go-to light for those situations.

   I was shopping for a replacement for the semi-ubiquitous 6V battery powered incandescent light that I carried in my pickup and chose this one. Just got the light yesterday, and took it outside once it got dark for a test run. First off – it puts out PLENTY of light for what I need – both in spot and flood modes. I can’t speak to durability, but it looks well-constructed and Streamlight has a pretty good reputation (the utility where I worked provided other Streamlight products to our linemen, and while not the same as this one, those lights took the proverbial beatin’ and kept on tickin’.) Also cannot speak to battery life at this point, but that’s not a major concern for the way I’ll be using the light.

   One minor detail/aggravation, and why I gave it four stars instead of five – the switch that selects between spot, flood (and both) light modes seems to be reversed – Flood light on in “S” mode and vice-versa.

   I’ve encountered far worse product “conundrums” – all in all, I think this light will do fine for what I need it to do. I’ll keep it.

   1. To heck with USB charging, I like that this light has rechargeable C-battery capability. 2. This light is sturdy and has a solid feel PLUS, IPX7 waterproofing. (Immersion -1 meter or less. Up to 3ft 3 in – 1 meter) 3. Practical and versatile lighting options. 4. And I say– phooey– on the reversed switch-label complaining here~! For this price range, this light is lightyears (pun intended) away from other Made in China lights I’ve bought over the years. NOTE: At night I can read my neighbor’s house number ten-doors down! Need sturdy, versatile, big bright lighting for your amateur spelunking or home attic/crawl space adventures? Go here! Be happy!!!

   I’m retired from law enforcement. You either had a good maglite or an incredible Streamlight. This light is no exception to Streamlight’s reputation for brightness and focused beam. The footlight on this model is nice enabling you to see the path ahead better. I also like the fold out stand for hands free work. We took this to the “Modoc Lava Bed Caves” in northern California with a group and they all want one after seeing/using it. We accidentally dropped it on jagged cave floor a few times and it handles it fine. If you’re looking for a bright light like this then look no more. Kudos to Steamlight on this model.

   I like the light, but very disappointed with the fact that when you dim the light it makes a irritating high pitch whine. What is more annoying that this is a premium flashlight – not some Chinese knock off on streamlightoutlet.com so I expect more. Now I have to waste time returning and I don’t know if it’s a one off defect or a systemic issue. Disappointed

   Using this flash light for the first time as of writing this review and the light is very bright on all 3 modes. Not sure about battery life yet but that’s why you have spare batteries. Used in the rain and it was easy to handle and will be buying more of these. Or if Streamlight want to send me some I’d be happy to take them off there hands
