I just received the Streamlight and was quite pleased with the pro-gear feel of it. It is big and heavy but that is what I expected from a flashlight using a lead acid battery. Note: there is no shoulder strap with this kit. You don’t really need it around the house though, if you are comfortable with the weight of something like a small power tool. If I was going for a walk with this light, I would want a shoulder strap. First impression, after charging, was that the thing really throws some light! If it will really make that much light for eight hours, just damn! One caveat, I have never had a big light that was not a spot before and this flood pattern is a bit different than what I am used to, but I think I like it. There is no central beam point, rather the whole area in front of the light is illuminated, perhaps 140 degrees or so. The light definitely does not lack for power, so it really does not need the spot focal point, it simply illuminates the heck out of my whole yard out to about 75 yards. It would probably go more distance easily but that is all the distance I have to test it with right now. I will post a follow on review of long term reliability, charge holding, run time, etc. However, my interim opinion on this light is very positive.
