Works great so far. Battery lasts probably 5-6 hours on full bright. It’s nice to have the removeable battery. Can put some AAA batteries in while you charge so you always have light. The clutch mechanism seems solid but will have to wait and see how long it will last

I love the double clutch switch. It has been hard to find a headlamp that does not use a push button scrolling switch. their innovation is a triumph; accessing four well arranged light modes with intuitive ease. i’ve had the light for over three years end it developed a small mechanical problem that I assumed was out of warranty. I called the company to see if they could tell me give me some tips on fixing it and I spoke to a nice person who cared about the product who told me to send it in so they could fix it. They seem to make products they intend to work well and last a long time. I will continue to buy from Streamlight.

I use this every day as a mechanic. It’s basically part of my uniform. I have this, and the rechargeable pen light by stream light. And I don’t use any other flashlights, ever.
How durable is it? How long does it last?
It’s pretty durable. The strap lasts about 5 months before replacing. The forehead pad will fall off sometime in the first year. But it doesnt make much of a difference anyways. It’s still fine for daily use without. The batteries last about 9-12 months before needing to replace. You do want to have a second battery for this by the way. One will last all day unless you are using it heavily. The tilt hinge lasts between one and two years before it looses its ability to hold. At that point you will need to replace the entire thing. But that’s miles ahead of the competition. I get it wet with oil and grime plenty and splashed with water. It’s plenty water resistant. I have dropped a driveshaft on it from about a foot while wearing it. Hurt like hell but didn’t even break the light.

So far the light works great, gives lots of light to work with.Bought a second battery,it isn’t a fast charge battery so if you use the light a lot I would recommend buying a backup battery pack.I have been using a battery powered Streamlight so the rechargeable light should pay for itself over time in the cost of triple A batteries.

No need to turn it fast or hard to change light intensity. Just a slight turn ( a hair) once is fine. No need to double click it. This unit is solid and built well. Head strap and weight are comfortable to the point of forgetting you have it on your head. Included are two straps. One is rubberized to attach it to a hard hat or caving helmet. Any problems with the light are probably associated to unfamiliarity and improper usage due to lack of reading or understanding the instructions. This is a pro unit that will work every time you need it.

Decent enough build. Just not as bright as I had hoped. For the money; I’d look elsewhere.

I bought this headlamp a year ago. I work as a aircraft mechanic on night shift, so a headlamp is a must. This lamp has been good so far. however, I had to fix the ball bearing for the rotating ring. It was an easy fix, but it malfunctioned during work. The rechargeable battery is fine if you use it on low setting and for limited time. When the rechargeable battery is depleted, the light will start blinking which is annoying. I buy cheap battery packs now and keep them at work. The light does not blink with regular batteries. There been many of times where hydraulic fluid and oil has splashed on the light with no rubber or plastic deterioration at all. It is lightweight but also bulky somewhat. It can be knocked off your head easily if you’re working in a tight space. I would also rather had a button instead of having to twist the outer ring to turn it on. All in all, it has been a good light and is keeping up with other streamlight flash lights I have had for quite a while.

My needs are a bit different from those of most buyers. I have a farm, and in winter I haul water to the barn twice or more a day, depending on how quickly it freezes. And of course there are hay, grain, and sometimes medical supplies to carry as well. I badly needed a light that I didn’t have to carry, given that my arms are always full. I tried several headlamps, but apparently the terms “superbright,” “ultrabright,” etc., are relative these days. Those others may seem extra bright for a runner or camper, but they’re definitely not bright enough to maneuver in a pitch-black barn, and I would never try to give an injection to a sick animal without bright lighting. This one works for my needs, and I find it easier to use; my gloved hands seemed to fumble with the controls on the others, whereas swiveling the whole disk on this model with gloves on is easy. I’ve used it every night since I received it. When I come in after making my rounds, I plug it into the computer port for charging so that it will be ready for use the next night.
Seems sturdy, and it looks good enough for all practical purposes; I was surprised by the comment that it looks “cheesy.” Clearly I’m not current on the aesthetics of flashlights. My priority is not how it looks but how well it allows me to see.
