   Very solid but very heavy like others have stated. NOT FOR USE WITH A HARDHAT. I have 6 point suspension and have to ratchet it pretty tight to my head to keep the hard hat from pulling over to one side with a flashlight mounted in this. It also doesnt rotate like I had hoped so although VERY secure it points up and out -instead of down at what I am doing. Great product but you would almost need one on both sides of your helmet to make it not pull your hardhat off.
   If this rotated downward I would totally find a counter balance, but with no way to angle the light its somewhat useless.

   Bought this to use on my Fire/Wildland helmet. Its very adaptable and comes with the the wrench to tighten it on the flashlight. I decided that I could replace 5 of the Cree LED flashlights for the cost of one of the more expensive helmet lights. The opening is big enough for the two different LED lights I purchased (if you take off the button on the bottom to get the batteries out). The mount also fits on my old structure helmet, my new wild land helmet and my dress helmet. I haven’t taken it into any serious action yet but it should hold up fine.

   Sturdy construction a little heavy, but your choices are weight or flimsy. I’ll carry the extra ounces.

   I like this better than the blackjack mounts as I can remove this one without tools if needed and adjust the angle (left to right) at which the light shines. It feels solid and well made. I have also seen guys over tighten the blackjack mouts on their light, making it very haed to remove the batteries due to dimples inthe polimer body. This ises a plate to distribute the force over a larger area, so if you are bad about going gorilla on screws this might be a safer bet.

    Fits my Streamlight Polytac light just fine. Attaching to my helmet (fire) was simple and it seems to be relatively secure, and adjustment to shine the beam in my line of sight was quick and easy. Hasn’t fallen off or moved in the few fires I’ve been to using it so far, and also sticks out far enough laterally that it doesn’t create glare on the face shield attached to the helmet or my SCBA mask.
