I purchased this light to put on my rifle. When the light arrived I was suprised by how big the thing actually was. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but the new focusing cone makes the thing almost twice as long as the TLR-1s. With that all being said, it really doesn’t add all that much difference in weight. I don’t know the exact ewight differences, but from holding the TLR-1s & TLR-1s HP side by side, I could not notice a significant difference in weight.
It is still a great light, and I will definitely keep it. I would give this 5 stars if it wasn’t so big.
If you are looking for something small, go with the standard TRL-1.
This one came with the remote door already attached, and also included the pressure pad, which were both nice bouses. This is a steal for the price. Everything together costs twice the price at other retail places.

Wanted to clarify since my box is marked 775 lumens, and did not come with the 1k lumen sticker. I did send the serial number over to Streamlight and they confirmed it is 1K. So if you’re in doubt, email Streamlight, they’ll get back to you shortly.
The light itself is bright. I have the TLR1-s, TLR1-HL, and this one. The regular S is fine for indoors, but can lack if aiming further outside. The HL is def a good all-around weapon light, IMO. The lens is just less bulky than the HPL, and I think it throws just as good of a beam. I think the HPL IS a little more concentrated in the middle, while still providing good overall wide coverage, so it definitely has its merits, but the lens, being larger, just seems slightly less durable (I’m guessing) than the HL, which I think is a great light, smaller lens profile, etc. So on my my shorter AR, I have the HL — slightly longer, I have the HPL. You won’t regret it, just get it. I have them mounted to the 6 o’clock positions on the pic rail, can easily use my index finger to manipulate the toggle – I didn’t want wires everywhere.

A lot of thought went into this light. Bright enough for any application and the strobe is kind of a cool feature. Have tried several different lights in the past and the pressure switch on this is the best I’ve ever seen. It has several mounting options, 3-M tape, screws, tie-wraps but the best one and one I’ve never seen before are the two rail covers that the switch locks into. Figured it might be a bit loose or wobbly but the switch fits perfect inside the rail covers. A few reviewers said the pressure switch wire was a bit short but even with the light mounted on the right side forward rail and the switch mounted on the left rail there’s plenty of wire left over. The Q/D mount for the light makes it a breeze to take on and off and it locks onto the rail firmly. The attached battery cap/switch assembly is great, no more dropped battery caps and the built in switch is easy to work if you don’t use the pressure switch. Needing another “Tact” light for another AR and will be ordering another one of these!

Was a previously opened one, with batteries already installed but was priced for $120 then went back up immediately after I bought it. Could have returned it but it was in perfect condition.
Pros: Very bright, LONG RANGE light. Made in america, durable. Great quality, very compact.
Cons:
No remote switch included and they are expensive, need a new battery door for one to work.
A little difficult to find a good spot for it because of the bell end and no remote switch.
Side by side CR123 means you cant use 18650 batteries

Very bright, long throw, well built, lightweight.
The beam is a very focused spotlight! Excellent at longer distance, but across an average home, the hot spot of the light will only be as big as a dinner plate. The rest of the room is cast in a dim ambient light instead of BRIGHTLY illuminating everything. Some people will not like this but I think it is an advantage especially for a long gun. Because the hot spot it so small and focused, it reduces the frequency/intensity of light reflecting back into my eyes from around a room. It has range and power when you need it, but isn’t overwhelmingly intense inside at close range. The beam is so focused you could successful use it as an aiming device like a laser out to 10 yards.
The standard toggle switch mechanism is weak and can be broken easily but the rest is well built.
