   I was pleasantly surprised. Light is well constructed and Although it took a bit of wrangling to get the larger piece of the clamshell design in place, one I did and got the other half on and tightened, the light fit perfectly on my Kimber Ultra II compact, and is very secure and tight. The laser dot is right in the middle of the light from the flashlight and requires no POA adjustment. Very pleased.

   This model of the TLR-6 works great on the Springfield 1911 EMP 3.1”. Once it is on it looks like it is an integral part of the firearm. It does take a wee bit of fiddling to get the plastic exterior on the trigger guard. Start with the bigger piece first, then the interior electronics, then the other side of the plastic exterior, then tighten down the screws. Installs firm and solid. I have another model of the TLR-6 on my late wife’s S&W Shield. That one works great, too. While the light isn’t the brightest on the market, I don’t expect to engage targets past 35 yards at night; the old homestead just ain’t that big!

   I highly recommend this light/laser combo for your Springfield 1911 EMP 3.1”.

   J’ai longtemps cherché une lampe/laser moderne compatible avec mon Zastava M57. Ce modèle à besoin d’être légèrement ajusté au Dremel pour bien épouser la courbure du pontet. Le résultat est parfait.
   C’est sûr qu’avec un rail Picatinny on a beaucoup plus de choix pour un prix inférieur mais bon…

   This Laser/Light fits my 1911 Airsoft Pistol like a glove . Because it is a blowback gun I had to add some double sided tape to stop it from moving because of blowback kick from gun .

   I finally installed this today after picking up my first 1911. I wanted to use this for home defense and instead of spending a few hundred dollars more for a tactical rail version 1911, I purchased this trigger mounted TLR-6 for my loaded SS Springfield Armory. It’s a tight fit and I couldn’t get it to install by following the directions. They want you to install the smaller half first, then bend the tab on the larger half to lock. Not sure if it’s because I have a full size 1911, but I couldn’t get it on that way. After trying for 10 minutes I installed the larger half first instead, then installed the smaller half and it snapped into place instantly. It fits snug and after tightening the screws it doesn’t move at all. The longer barrel on my 1911 doesn’t block any light or caused any install issues. This gun is already heavy and I don’t need a larger light (such as the TLR-1) for indoors anyway. The TLR-6 is perfect for close quarter combat. Great product and I will update after taking to the range. UPDATE 12/18/16. Finally went to the shooting range and shot through 300 rounds. Light is still nice and tight and works perfectly well. Updated picture with new WC grips.

   5/5, would buy again, recommend to others. I bought this because I wanted a light on my full-sized Kimber that wasn’t bulky and wasn’t prohibitively expensive. I was initially reluctant to order this because other buyers said it was difficult to put on or that they had other issues. My light arrived on time, it had everything needed to put it into immediate operation. I think start to finish it was eight minutes, with most of the time spent unscrewing and re-screwing the three allen screws holding everything together. Fits tight, looks good. If I have any issues when I take it to the range I’ll come back up on the net. Otherwise, the five star rating stands. There is noticeable barrel shadowing with my gun. I imagine if this was on a compact there would be little to none. The attached picture is at about four feet. Across the room it’s a lot less conspicuous. I love the way I can index the light with my finger on the way to the trigger. Good work, Streamlight.

   It works on my GSG 1911. Although GSG1911 is not on their list, but still fit well!

   update:
   I just went to the range on a sunny day, the red laser doesn’t work well on dark steel target. White paper target is barely visible up to about 10-15m. I wish they have the green version which is a lot more visible.

    Does not work as shown does not clip firmly to the trigger guard every time you’re firearm is fired it will fly off 100% do not recommend anybody get this piece of crap now there is something they can give you a rail for a 1911 it’s called recovery cc3p grip and rail system this is the sturdiest platform and strongest I found so far but that streamlight is garbage do not buy

    Snaps on easily and it’s easy to adjust the laser, but haven’t taken it to the range yet… so, fingers crossed!! I’ve given this product 4 stars because it seems like everything was delivered as promised. However, I think I may have received someone else’s return as the packaging was not ‘perfect’ as new items like new items are usually delivered as.

    I bought a TLR-6 for a micro carry and it was so nice I bought a 2nd for a 1911, both without rails.. The laser (and Light) are very bright, even in bright daylight, which is why I bought it. They are both very accurate, easy to attach, easy to adjust and blend into the pistols very nicely. The Streamlight way of attaching them to the trigger guard is very sturdy and holds the laser rock solid. The power switch lies right under my index finger just outside of the trigger guard. I fired about 20 rounds of .45 and more than that through the micro and the POA did not change. I like that you can change the batteries without moving the laser, so you don’t have to resight when you change them. I only wish that they made it in green laser, but the red works great. Of the three brands of laser sight that I use, I like these the best. Recommended.
