   This is my first laser flashlight, I have to admit I am pleasantly surprised. It was so simple to install and adjust with the small allen key provided. Can’t wait to check the reliability and accuracy of the lazer at the range.

   First – I’m a skilled electronics bench tech. which turned out to be useful in this case. I bought a used Streamlight TLR-6 (specific model #69284) from streamlightoutlet.com as I usually have good luck with used/re-furb. products. It arrived quickly but that one was the wrong unit – it did not fit my SIG 365X even though it was marked as such (P365 – but the series is the same) on the package. Who was at fault for that one; the wrong unit in the correct package? It was also missing one case screw and the Allen wrench. I returned it and streamlightoutlet.com was completely and immediately responsive. So I decided to try another used unit. The credit from the first one was applied to the second and it added only another ~$4. That one again arrived quickly and this time it fit perfectly. Unfortunately it was also defective – the light worked but not the laser. Damn! I really didn’t want to go through another return so I decided to first rip into it to see if the “fix” was simple. Once I opened up the internal housing I found that the laser unit was completely disconnected from the circuit board! I’m assigning that one to Streamlight. I assume they test their products before shipping them but somehow this one was not built well and the wires for the laser broke free from the circuit board at some point, maybe in shipping? It took some further disassembly on my part to clear the solder connections and get that laser re-soldered to the circuit board…but bottom line – Success! The unit now works as intended. Looks like I’ll need to make a minor adjustment to the windage but otherwise I’m now happy with the purchase given the reduced price…and another chance to use my skills! Time will tell if it holds up. I’m giving this a “3” overall rating because of the quality issues. Streamlight is responsible for the non-functioning laser and streamlightoutlet.com is responsible for shipping me a “used” unit that was in fact defective. NOTE TO streamlightoutlet.com: Customers return products for a variety of reasons, but when they are declared “defective’ maybe you should check them out before sending them to yet another unsuspecting customer! I may adjust my rating up or down depending on my experience on the range…

   I had owned the P365 for about a year waiting for any major manufacturer to make a pistol light for it. Originally, when the P365 was first advertised they had showcased a sig proprietary pistol light – the Foxtrot365. Time went by and it was never available to buy, by the time the light was available I had already discovered Crimson Trace & Streamlight were also releasing a light and I really like both designs. For 100 lumens Sig was charging around $150, Streamlight $110 and Crimson Trace was a little cheaper at around $90. What really ended up selling me on the TLR-6 was the fact there were already other versions of the TLR-6 for other pistols, the TLR-6 model would probably have holster options sooner. Also I thought the design was the nicest. I almost didnt buy it because of the laser, that was in my mind at the time what the crimson trace light had to its advantage (no laser) but who knows how long I would have had to wait for a holster. I am not a fan of lasers and at the time I wasn’t aware you could turn it off, so when I discovered that I was very happy. Overall I dont regret buying this over those other 2 options. When I received it, it was pretty straightforward and easy to install, I dont recall If I used the instructions at all but I probably did. It was a piece of cake to put together. The button is in a good location, you can access it either with your main or support hand as its located on both sides, so its perfect for left and right handed shooters as well. Love the ergonomic design, its a perfect match for the pistol, it looks perfect with the pistol, its not ugly. The light placement also allows for a better grip and area for thumb placement on my support hand. Funny thing is, I couldn’t really use it for about a month. I would scour over instagram looking to see if someone had made holsters for it yet, eventually I found one. I ordered a holster and installed it permanently. Ive been wearing mine for about a good month now. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. One suggestion to streamlight for future improvements would be to start moving towards rechargeable options.
