Great compact light, and the HL-X puts out a ton of Lumens. It was not so long ago we could only dream of 500 lumens in a light this size, let alone 1000!
Because of how compact the “sub” version of the TLR-7 is, the candela number is much less impressive than the lumens. That means this light has a bright and wide pattern up close, but the beam is not very concentrated and will not project out to long distances.
In other words, tons of flood, not a lot of throw. The way most people will use this light, that’s perfectly OK. Perhaps even preferred. Just know that it will not project out to the same distances as other 1000 lumen streamlights. That’s just the nature of such a compact reflector.
Push buttons are easy to use.

I use Streamlights on all my guns, and the HL-X series is great. If you’ve ever messed around with your weapon light you know how fast those batteries die. Being able to recharge during the day is amazing. I made the mistake of testing this light in a mirror and I can attest it is VERY BRIGHT!
The mounting system is dependent to your gun so make sure you choose the correct light; for example I needed the SIG version because the 365XL has an open rail system, not picatinny style.
If you’re an ordinary civilian, you’ll do just fine running the HL-X streamlights on your guns.

Just installed it. You might want to look at an install and setup video from YouTube as the instructions weren’t the most clear to me. Overall, it installed easily (once I watched the video). It is very bright! I let the battery charge for a couple hours before putting it in and turning it on. Took me a little bit on figuring out how to charge it. I thought the charging port (USB-C) was on the light unit, but after some searching, it’s actually on the battery itself! that’s a new one for me. I installed this on my P365X (which has the XL frame). Yes I would recommend this light.
