   This is exactly what I was looking for. I flexible LED light with a magnetic base, utilizes AA batteries with easy on and off. I liked it so much I bought one for my brother as a Christmas gift.

   Note the latest version of this product has been updated to 140 lumens. I was looking for something I could wrap around my neck for hands-free walking at night. I originally looked for something similar to the old Black & Decker snake-light (from the nineties). Found out Black & Decker has updated the original to an LED version, but it only puts out 45 lumens (rather low by today’s LED standards). Thus we have this Streamlight which outputs 140 lumens. I’ve now used this for several days. It’s lighter in weight then it may look, very comfortable around the neck. When it’s hanging around your neck, you can twist the end to any angle you like (to place the beam anywhere in front of you) – making it the perfect hands-free walking light. Lay it on a flat surface, and you can point the head in any direction you want. The beam pattern is very wide & evenly spread – no dark/bright spots in the middle like a traditional flashlight.

   This is the second one of these that the battery has corroded into the flashlight to the point where you cannot get the battery out. This is the third stream light flashlight that is also done this. I feel they have gone well downhill the last several years. I use top-of-the-line batteries and I am doing nothing usual with the flashlight. Just thought I would warn people out there. This is only the second set of batteries to go into this flashlight.

   I have 18” stream light with pen head and it runs on aaa and it goes years. I used this because it is brighter and with magnet is nice but it comes at a big cost of consumption. I recommend the smaller version but it’s nice having both

   This is a very well-made flashlight. It is very bright. I wish the beam could be adjusted because it is more of a spot-light than a flood-light. I’d like to be able to adjust the beam to suit the task at hand. Same goes for brightness: It’s a little too bright for close-up work, IMO. The holding clip is magnetic….No steel, no hold.

   I have purchased many of these units for our automotive inspection business. I give up. Eventually, every one of these units fails to illuminate when turned on. It seems to be a problem with the end cap as swapping the end cap out with a new unit does solve the problem. They all ended up in the trash. Don’t waste your money on these. You’ve been warned!!!
