   I purchased this holder on 09/05/2021. When I opened the bag I was impressed, the holder is made of a thick plastic and looks like it will last. On the magnet was a warning label saying to keep the magnet “away from pacemakers” because of the “strong magnetic field”. After removing the label I found it was a lie.

   This holder was purchased for two uses, 1 so I could keep a light mounted on a Havis console in my truck, and 2 to keep a flashlight mounted on the refrigerator. The magnet on the holder is not strong enough to hold my Streamlight Stinger DS. Which when I read the product description claimed it was made for. When I place the light in the holder in either of these locations it quickly slides to the floor. I have tried the holder on several other pieces of metal and I get the exact same results every time. The magnet is just way to weak to hold the flashlight in place.

   The instructions were to remove the paper before use. What it should have said was remove the metal plate before use. The magnet is protected by a rubber pad and then a metal plate. The metal plate has a sticker that was impossible for me to remove without a glue remover. Once the metal plate with the sticker on it and the rubber below the metal plate is removed, it will work great.

   I had read a lot of reviews stating how weak the magnet was, but there were also quite a few that said how strong it was. When it arrived, I tried it first with the paper on the magnet and sure enough it would barely hold itself without the flashlight. I couldn’t imagine that a sticker would make that much difference, but I peeled it off (which was a pain, it was really stuck on). Removing the sticker made no difference just as I thought. I figured I would just glue it to a good strong magnet to make it work. But as I was scraping a little more sticker residue off, the shiny outer plate fell out, along with a rubber disc. I think those 2 items are an anti-marring measure for the surface that the magnet goes on, or to weaken the magnetic force for shipping purposes maybe? Well now the magnet is plenty strong to support the flashlight, works for me!

   This did just what I needed it to do. I stuck it on the front of my snow blower to light the way when I am using it at night. It is strong enough to stick to the blower housing and also holds the 1″ flash light tube nice and tight. Even the vibrations of the snow blower do not move it at all. I am very happy with this purchase. It does exactly what I was hoping it would do. Thank you. Tom

   As a mechanic, these are good to have. The problem I have is that the clips break too easy and the magnet which is very strong isn’t secured very well in the base.
