   This kit is total trash, if you really want a Stinger HP, save some bucks and buy one, because it’s the only way you’ll get one. This head not only adds bulk to your Stinger, but it also makes the light beam weak. The light gets dimmer, and there are a lot of dark rings in the beam of light. The light does not travel as far anymore as it used to before adding the upgrade head. It kinda reminds you of the old Maglites. DON’T BUY IT!! You’ll be wasting $30 if you do. I don’t even know why Streamlight came up with this piece of trash.

   I upgraded my flashlight with this item and it has performed exceptionally. I use the flashlight for security work in a night club. I have used several different flashlights and this combination is by far the best I’ve owned. The beam stays very concentrated over a great distance. It works extremely well for identifying people in a large crowd and signaling other employees.

   I have owned standard stingers and just got a polystinger for Christmas. I decided to try this to upgrade it to the claimed 40,000 candlepower this claims to do. It not only didn’t increase the light output, it was actually a little lower and not uniform with dark spots in the center of the beam.

   If you own a stinger, be happy knowing you have a great light. Save your money and avoid this. I would have given this negative stars if they had the option.

   I read reviews on the internet about how the HP upgrade kit does not work, but I thought that there is no way that could be. The advertisement said that it increased light output by 3 times. I just had to try myself. Well, the verdict is in. IT DOESN’T work. In fact, the light is brighter without the upgrade kit, and smaller too. Don’t waste your money.
