   Unbelievable light and beam quality. Puts some other flashlights that I own and thought were pretty good to shame. Excellent size for carrying. Love that it can run on AAs in a pinch.

   Every light is a compromise, but this one is a huge upgrade from the original protac 2aa. The knurling is perfect. The candela is very useful. On high it’s not so crazy that you will be constantly blinding yourself in small spaces. I rotated the clip so it’s on one of the flat spots to make it a little easier on the pocket.

   The Streamlight 88137 ProTac 2AA-X is a comfortable grip size of a standard marker. The USB-C Rechargable batteries can be swapped for 2x “AA” anytime. The flashlight’s internal battery works with other USB-C device chargers. Professional build quality and bright enough to conduct a search.

   Only downside (-1 star) is the provided USB-C battery is not rapid charge compatible. The new updated Streamlight USB-C battery takes 3-4 hours to 100% charge, and approx. 2 hours to drain. The battery drain isn’t a huge deal breaker, because a pair of “AA” can be substituted at a 50% brightness.

   The quality of construction appears to be up to the Streamlight standards, however the rechargeable battery does not hold a charge longer than an hour of no use. Using alkaline batteries was my alternate power source, but now the light won’t even come on, regardless of how many fresh batteries I try. Very disappointed as I have used Streamlight for years with exceptional service. The product has never been dropped or otherwise abused.

   This is a high quality light for an accessible price. From working in an engine bay, general illumination when the sun goes down, looking for things in the house or inside computers, or a carry defense flashlight this light does it all. Depending on your use you may not even need to recharge it more than once every 2-3 weeks. In no light scenarios the light will provide great light and is tail stand capable allowing it to illuminate moderately sized rooms. In carry situations I would say the blinding light is effective to 25 yards or so. The light also performs admirably in general use tasks in the automotive and electronic genre of work. The ability to accept 2 regular AAs allow this light to work in an emergency situation or in on extended camping trip! I highly recommend this light

   The size and grip texture is excellent. The clip makes it easy to carry in a pocket. Streamlight’s programmable feature is great. I have no personal need for the strobe, so the ability to program it to turn on to the low setting, and then switch to the brighter high beam is ideal. Lastly, the dual fuel source, the included rechargeable lithium ion cell, or two, easily obtainable AA batteries, ensure that you have a power source available. A great choice of an EDC flashlight.
