Me gusta que ahora solo usa 3 pilas en vez de 4, la versión anterior se sentía más solida, está version es un poco más liviana, me gusta que tenga indicador de carga en el botón me es muy útil saber cuando cambiar las pilas, cuando ya tienen poca carga ya no te permite prender la linterna, con la versión anterior podía seguir brillando muy tenuamente con poca carga en las pilas, en cuanto a desempeño es muy similar a su antecesora aunque está dice que tiene más lumens no noto yo mucha diferencia, extraño el modo de ultra ahorro o Moonlight que te permitía usar la lámpara hasta por 20 días!!!, está lámpara ya no lo tiene. La recomiendo, claro que si, aunque si vas a una misión de supervivencia al fin del mundo la versión anterior con su modo de moonlight es la vencedora.

Missing pieces and damaged packaging

My brother is a firefighter and had let me borrow one of his Streamlight Survivors because I live on a hill and have dogs that like to sniff around in the field below me. The neighbor that owns the field had been burning brush and I quickly realized my old LED flashlight just didn’t cut it when trying to keep an eye out on my pups when there was smoke or fog in the air. His Streamlight worked great so I decided to buy one for myself.
I picked up this Survivor X which is an upgraded version of the light he has and it has been incredible. I can spot my pups at night even through thick fog and know they’re safe which makes it worth the price.
It has a low power mode (accessed by holding the power button down for a couple seconds) and a flash mode (hold button longer) so it could easily be used as a signal light if needed. I may even buy a second one to keep in my Jeep for this purpose.
I haven’t fully tested the waterproof capabilities but based on the seals around the battery compartment and the rubber power switch I don’t see where it couldn’t be fully waterproof.
I’d definitely recommend this for anyone who finds themselves in fog or smokey areas and needs to see where they’re going.

I read the one star reviews on products I purchase on streamlightoutlet.com to get a good idea what people think about that particular item.well this time the one star reviews where right sadly .I really wanted to like this flash light ,but as one reviewer said they received a used flash light so did i.not only that the battery pack fell apart when I opened it to install batteries 5 little parts just fell out and the battery terminals had battery acid corrosion on it.the black lettering was rubber off like it was a demo piece. the cardboard was all bent over like it was removed and replaced several times .I think the flash light was well made felt rugged and a bit heavy but I would stay away from this particular seller.

This is an excellent addition to your flashlight collection. The beam is so direct and piercing, more so than any flashlight I’ve owned. So basically it’s a super durable spotlight that only requires 3AA batteries. It’s no frills with 3 settings and no focal adjustment, which can be a plus depending on how you look at it. Add this to your kit, you will not be disappointed.
