   A while back, somehow my streamlight was left on in a closed case and it overheated. It worked somewhat, but when I pressed the base for constant on, it would change settings. This new base has the light like new again.

   I have a ProTac 1L-1AA. The original Tailcap stopped working so I ordered this one. The diameter of the threads is more narrow than that of the original and will not thread into the flashlight.

   This tailcap appears to be designed solely for the ProTac 1L and 2L flashlights which use only the CR123A batteries. It is much too small in diameter to fit the dual-fuel ProTac 2L-X. While it can be screwed onto a duel-fuel ProTac 1L-1AA, the effort required and resulting poor fit make it a no-go.

   From similar reviews, it appears there are some of us who have erroneously interpreted the “ProTac 1L/2L” description as referring to the “ProTac 1L/2L Family” which would include the hyphenated duel-fuelers. Now, $15 later, that I have one of these tailcaps in hand it’s obvious that that interpretation is incorrect. Perhaps a more detailed description from the seller would prevent this happening in the future.

   I have a number of 2L-X flashlights whose tailcap switches have either failed or have badly worn rubber tailcap switch covers. It would be helpful to have these tailcaps available through streamlightoutlet.com.
