I’ve had several of these over the years. Very reliable very handy for a maintenance person, and others. This one is a blue light. I didn’t know there was an option of color for light. Definitely not my choice

Like always, I’m too excited to read the instructions so I opened it up and tried the different housings, hoping they would snap in. After getting frustrated because none fit properly, finally realized that I needed to unsnap the kit first and then they fit properly. Looks great and works with my clip! Can’t wait to take it to the range!

Works, charge, easy to hide, worth it.

This could be a good light if not for the horrible tailcap switch. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Super frustrating! The description also states the lens is glass when it is in fact acrylic. Incredibly disappointed with this light given the pricetag. I'm more than willing to pay for quality, but sadly this light misses the mark. My decision to purchase this flashlight was partly based on the expectation of having the durability of a glass lens and the bait and switch business practice just adds insult to injury. As you can see in the photo, the lens is clearly not glass. Battery life is decent at least and I am satisfied with the brightness.

Works

100 lumens better than zero lumens

My #1 tool every day of the week. Being in the trades as many years as I have this light takes the abuse and stays strong. You can purchase rebuild kits or buy a new light. I have 3 of them and still have 2 and they are going strong. Can see myself using any other light out there. In my opinion best light on the market.

This SKU seemingly has no provision to mount on an ARC rail, which makes it completely useless for me. Worse, the piece of plastic that retains the clip immediately came off and won't go back on. Overall, this was a complete waste of money and offers nothing. I did check the IR with my NODs, works fine.

I love this flashlight, I’m a plumber so it goes through a lot of abuse. My last one was going strong up until the day my puppy thought it was a chew toy. It does still work with some electrical tape though, so it’s still going to be a backup light on the truck. But I got the new one because of being around water all the time. I highly recomend this flashlight.

Light came with a scratched up case and the rubber around the lense looks used and discolored.

Overall a great red laser/flashlight combo for my Ruger SR40c. The flashlight extends about an inch past the barrel, but it still looks nicely integrated and not out of place. There is no strobe function and I was aware of this before purchasing the unit, but the flashlight is bright enough to impair an attacker's vision to a certain degree, if they are close enough. I find its effective "blinding" range to be about 18' max (a strobe would extend this to 30+ feet). The laser, from the factory, shoots 1"-2" low. If you have a Ruger SR40c, the picatinny rail key you want to use is the one labeled "A", which is included in the flashlight package. Mine came with the "C" key pre-installed so I just removed that one and inserted the "A" key - takes 30 seconds. The light stayed lit and did not fall off through 150 rounds of nonstop shooting which included 30 rapid-fired rounds (15 x 2). Do not try to attach the flashlight without the correct rail key in place, it will eventually fall off the gun no matter how hard you tighten the screw (on a test run without the "A" key installed, my light fell off after just 8 shots). If you have a compatible pistol and don't want to spend near 200 bucks for a high-end tactical light/laser combo, I strongly recommend the TLR-4.

Update Nov 9th 2024: it's now been 4 years and I carry and use this light every day in my profession. I work in the Automtive industry. This light has been put through a lot, from regular daily use to many drops to the concrete floor in the shop. The light has also had all automotive fluids on it at some point and no issues. This is still the best EDC light. Another great light from Streamlight. This light is small and compact enough for everyday carry, it is just barely larger in diameter then a quarter (see picture) . The pocket clip hold tight and doubles as a head light, you can clip it on the bill of your hat without having to remove the clip from the light (see pictures) . Great design on the clip A++. I have other brands of lights that will do that, but you have to remove the clip and filp it which it usually not easy and definitely not convenient. This light is vary bright as you can see in the picture and that tree is 50+ yards away. It was pitch black out when the picture was taken. The pictures were taken with my Galaxy Note 20 ultra and it was not in night mode. Camera settings were set to default so no extra enhancements. I will be buying more of these lights. I think this is the BEST LIGHT FOR THE MONEY HANDS DOWN. I purchased model PROTAC 2L-X 88062 500 Lumens, this model comes with 2 CR123A batteries. You can also use one 18650 which I will be purchasing the Streamlight 18650 batteries since they have a micro USB port bulit in to them so no special charger needed. Streamlight also offers a version of the PROTAC 2L-X that has a micro USB port built in to the light for when using rechargeable batteries you don't have to remove them from the light to charge them.

Installed and switch would not work. Uninstalled and located black wire to led was detached.

Mounted the Stalk on my Team Wendy Exfil bump helmet using the TW PrincetonTec adapter, currently just friction fit, but it is reasonably solid. I'll figure out a way to secure it better or tether it. Ambient light test conditions: 1.4% Waxing Crescent, new moon was yesterday, very little cloud cover. Definitely more of an admin type light, throw isn't that great but flood is solid, on the white or IR high power you can reasonably see about 20ft in front. So IMO this is perfect for what I wanted. Pros: excellent bang for buck, 2 types of batteries, aim-able head, controls are easy to remember, IR strobe beacon is a nice touch for someone that is rarely going to use it and doesn't want to bother spending money on one. Cons: not much throw, only one color available

After a lot of searching and comparing I finally decided to settle on the TLR-1 w/ the strobe function versus getting one with the laser option. My first impression on opening the package and holding the light was that it is a sturdy light. It does not feel cheap and have a clean look to it. I bought this light for my Sig P320 Compact and it fits perfectly. The light came preset for a Glock rail, but had the adapter keys for the other rails as described in the description. Only took about 2 minutes to swap out, mostly my fault due to not ensuring the hex nut was flush before installing the key as the directions stated. The light does extend a past the barrel/frame but I do have the compact frame so it was expected. I imagine with a full size frame it would be close to flush with the frame/barrel. The flip switch is very easy to manipulate to use either steady on, momentary, or strobe with a single finger. When activated, the light is very bright! Even in a well lit room during the day, you can see the beam on the wall across the room. The same can be said for the strobe function as it is just a bright and very disorienting. I have not shot yet with the light attached so I cannot speak to how it affects the muzzle flip, but based on the weight it add to the front of the gun I have a feeling it will stabilize the flip some.
