  • Initial Observations: It's about time! I have been waiting for a light to come out for my Glock 26. I am a Law Enforcement Officer and carry a backup G26 in my cargo pocket while on duty. The G26 fits nicely in the pocket with a pocket holster and uses the same magazines as my full size Glock 17. The only problem I have been facing is with my off duty gun. I wanted to carry the G26 off duty and concealed but really enjoy having a light on my off duty gun (identifying the threat is where people run into problems in low light). I also like the idea of being able to carry the G26 with a full size G17 magazine ready to go should the first magazine fail or I need more ammunition. I just thought a light would never be able to be attached on the pistol due to the pistol not having a rail for attachments. Then I was told about this set up, the TLR-6. I have always enjoyed Streamtlight products. I have never had issues with any of their lights. I have Streamlights on my duty pistol and patrol rifle (M4) already. So, I ordered the TLR-6. The light also had the built in laser, which I was not wanting too much, but I found out the laser can be turned off if you want it turned off. The light fit on my pistol perfectly. The pistol and the light look like the pistol came that way. It was also a quick and easy 5 minute install. The light was also very bright for the size of the unit. Reliability: I shot a few hundred rounds through the pistol using the light and have not had any issues. The unit feels very durable and turned on and off when I wanted it too. On/Off Button: I did notice the button on the light sits far enough forward that someone with short fingers may have some trouble reaching it. I am 6'2" and have normal size hands for my height. I did not find any problems reaching it, but my wife did. I enjoy the fact that the light is ambidextrous, since I am left handed. I can turn it on and off with my left index finger. I also liked that the on button could be pressed lightly to activate the light and released to turn the light off or you can press the button firmly to have continuous light. Battery: The battery is easy to access with the light on the gun. For sight in, I used the allen wrench it came with to sight it in with my iron sights. This took five minutes and was very simple. Holster: This was almost a deal breaker for me. Unless you are placing it next to your bed, why would you want a light on a gun without a holster? I needed a holster that I could continue doing pocket carry with and I also needed a holster I could use for concealed carry. I like Kydex the best due to moisture issues I have had when using leather for concealed carry. I chose to go with Gladius Holsters ( [...] ). I was told by another cop that they make great products and can make holsters to fit lights on pistols. I was impressed. Gladius made a pocket holster for duty carry and an appendix carry holster for off duty concealed carry. The holsters are very durable and exceeded my expectations. It is strong stuff. I posted a picture of me carrying appendix carry with this light in a holster. Pros: Bright, easy to use, durable, price, fit to pistol, now have holsters for them, easy to install/sight in Cons: distance from hand to button

  • As a law enforcement officer working nights, good flashlights are invaluable. My previous flashlight (after 3 or 4 years) is failing. It was also a flashlight with usb charging. It was randomly cutting off. I looked up that manufacturer and found they went out of business. With streamlight, I doubt they will ever go out of business. This light is replacing that one and will be used on every shift multiple times per night. The Protac HPL usb took about 6 hours to charge out of the box. It is by far the brightest flashlight I’ve ever owned, and is small enough to still wear on my belt or clip on my vest. I’ve used the streamlight stinger for years and love them, but they’re just too big to carry on my belt or vest. The best part about this protac is the ease of charging. I have usb chargers everywhere and can easily charge it without having to have a large clunky stand-alone charger with me like the stinger series. The Stinger has its benefits, but the Protac will be my number 1 light. After using it, I will update this review as needed.

  • Not sure what’s supposed to be in the empty space in the package, so I might have been shorted something(?) but what I got does the job and works exactly like it says it will. It’s worth the money.

  • My job requires me to have a flashlight that I can trust with my life. Streamlight is the top of the line when it comes to flashlights and this light is perfect for my job. I carry it on a vest pouch in which it hits up against things all day every day. As you can see in this picture its still flawless. Its been dropped more times than I can count now and its held up great. I've only had to charge it once since my purchase a month or two ago. Great battery life and a great product.

  • Someone said brightness was an issue… This is a red filter for low light situations that does not disrupt your vision or ability to see well in low light. This filter does great for sneak peaks in dark rooms or admin issues while working in total darkness. Over a year now and no failures on this cap and continues to work great with what it’s intended to do.

  • *Weapon is safe and unloaded* I’m extremely impressed with the customer service of Streamlight. If you’re looking for a review from a person that REALLY runs their gear, look no further. I was recently doing an urban combat course, it was pretty rigorous. I was climbing an obstacle and fell, with the majority of the impact landing onto the TLR-1. The weapon fell between my body, and concrete. I crushed the face cover, as you can see in the photo. The quality aspect comes from the fact that the LIGHT STILL RAN. I couldn’t believe it could take that type of abuse and still operate. I completed the course with a crushed light, without issue. What impresses me with Streamlight, is the fact that this accident was 100% my fault. I told a representative at Streamlight about the incident, and offered to purchase a new face for my light. The representative sent me one, free or charge. She said: “We want to make sure our products work, all the time.”… I was blown away. 3 days later, and I had the part. Good as new. I was so happy with the service that I bought a couple more to add to my course, and duty pistols. The light itself is bright enough to get the job done. The switches allow for you to manipulate the light by “sweeping” your trigger finger either up or down. One direction is a constant on. The other is a “hold to activate”… this makes it so you can flash an area and go “light off” again just by releasing your finger. It’s great to gain a quick advantage without revealing your position too much. The “constant on” selection stays put, and keeps the light activated during rapid fire, drops (haha) and day-to-day drills. The light is rugged, and survives strenuous work. My first TLR-1 was attached to one of my pistols, and it has held for well over 10,000 rounds without issue. A quick few turns, releases the light, so you can mount it on just about anything. The illumination and field of view within the beams parameter is outstanding. The outside portion of your natural point of aim also stays brighter, giving you a good view of possible targets in the corners, away from the light. Now, that being said… do yourself a favor and save some money in the long run by buying yourself a couple sets of rechargeable batteries, and a charger. It’ll save you a ton of grief. This light really is quite impressive. And as a person who works on range, and shoots four times a week… I recommend you try it.

Perfect for reading maps in the cockpit at night. For those complaining there is no “constant on” function as described, you have to twist the cap for it to stay on.

  • The full kit works great and fits snug on my Glock 30. The reach for the on button is a little long. It's nice getting all the housings included. More secure than I thought it would be for not being a rail mount system.

  • Nice fit on Sig p238. Note: Almost complete disassembly required prior to mounting, reassemble on trigger guard, and install batteries last thing.

  • Disclaimer: I have run many high end weapon mounted lights and currently run three other streamlights on my CCW weapons and EDC rotation. I have used Surefire scouts, Modlites, and have seen Cloud Defensive Rein beams in action during live fire events I have attended. The Good: 1) Tight hotspot with 50,000 candella improves your hot spot and blinding power to any suspected threat. Inside of 25 years this light is basically blinding. I have shined myself in the face with this at distance compared to other streamlights with 25K candella, and Fenix lights with 18K candella, there is a noticeable improvement in blinding power. 2) The light also stays cool while running on high as compared to other lights in this category, no noticeable step down on longer run times. 3) Tail cap push button is nice and tactile (more on the tail switch later...) 4) M-Lok mounting system is amazing. Nice and tight up against the handguard. The Bad: Two parts: Beam rings & loose tail switch connector 1) As shown in the pictures, the beam profile and head design leads to an INSANE AMOUNT of rings in the beam of light, these rings are all different colors and span from the inner hot spot to the flood light. In most scenarios I can count approximately 5 rings of light. This isn't a concern for long range applications, but anything within 25-50yards, you are going to notice these rings. Why this is bad? In any CQB or indoor/close range situation, these rings can deflect off walls and lead you to focus on them/disrupt your field of view. If these rings didn't exist, I would give this like a 4/5. 2) The tail switch connector is horrible. It is WAY TO LOOSE for fighting rifle/duty rifle applications. Such similar platforms like the surefire and cloud defensive are much tighter fitting, taking good effort to remove them. This tail switch can be easily flicked out accidentally and is about as secure as your iphone cord plugging into your iphone, but looser. 3) HLX-PRO only adopted the momentary on tape switch, so the only way to use constant on is with the tailcap itself. I would have liked to see the tapeswitch have both function like the old HLX. To perfect this light: 1) Remove the 4-5 rings in the beam of light profile, that is absurd. 2) Improve the retention of the tailswitch mount into the back of the light, IE Surefire style. 3) Utilize the tape switch with dual function (previously found on the HLX model) Due to these issues I cannot recommend this light, unless you love a bizarre amount of rings in your beam profile. As a note, I have posted a video on YouTube about this, I cannot link it hear but you can search for Protac HLX Pro Beam Shot Comparison and you will find it.

  • Just installed, looks and works great, searching for new IWB holster now. :) install instructions are tiny font, and no way in the right order to install. Do it in reverse of what they tell you else you’ll be there for hours and maybe crack or break it. Insert gun into the larger housing with the longer trigger piece, then lay in your electronics, then “at an angle” wedge in the smaller housing piece. Pay attention to the slanted tip that fits together back near the trigger. Look close and you’ll see how they need to marry-up. Tighten 3 screws and done. Yes, you must disassemble 3 screws first before installing. Good luck! Note to tech writer; bigger fonts, better photos, and test your work before writing instructions. Thx

I read the reviews that said micro USB does not fit. The problem appears to be, as I hope you can see in the pic, that only the cord with the slim base fit. The thicker base did not. Once I made that distinction, unit charged just fine!

I ordered a new product and was sent an opened one. The pictures are how I pulled it out of the box 📦. I ordered it because I lost my other one that I loved. I will have to give this one a try but I have no idea why it was returned and sold to me as new. These flashlights are hella bright and handy though.
