It was finally time give my 20 year old Streamlight LiteBox an overhaul, and boy is it a world of difference!!! A new battery and an E-Spot conversion, and I’m looking for excuses to use this old war horse again!! The LED swap took 5 minutes and required no tools at all. Pop the rubber ring off, unplug the old halogen light, plug in the new LED lighthead, and put the rubber ring back on. It’s seriously that easy. I feel that the cost of this lighthead is high, but I definitely don’t regret my purchase. And this rebuild was still cheaper than replacing a light that otherwise had nothing wrong with it other than being dirty and faded. I’m also very happy with the flood pattern vs. the spot. It’s actually more user friendly when using it to light up my campsite or work under the car or truck. I tried it out in my pitch black attic and it lit the entire attic up. I’m happy.

  • Positives: solid build, pressure pads work well on both sides and for me activates easily with thumb on left side, keeps light in line with barrel not stuck out on side rail, and easy battery access and easy install. Negatives: grip is large so small hands find it awkward to grip and the design creates awkward gap between ribbed forend and flashlight component. Just doesn’t feel like a good corn cob forend or even Magp forend that are slimmer. I’m sure with time I’ll get used to it. Side note…came in black so didn’t match my Magp FDE stock. But there is FDE spray paint on streamlightoutlet.com branded as matching Magp FDE. Easy application with painter’s tape covering certain areas. I put on three coats. Close but not exact match but 500% better than black.

  • My top two choices were this light and X300 but as far as features and price all favors the TLR2. I was expecting a little bit on the quality department but this light exceeds my expectations. Well built and looks ergonomically correct in form and function. So good that I bought another one the very next day. Shipped fast too!!

  • I SERIOUSLY dislike leaving reviews such as this especially for a product like THIS! I have always sworn by streamlite and will never buy anything else but streamlite but, when my battery dies in such a way that it cannot even recharge itself and it's only ONE MONTH pass the return deadline I'm not happy. Now I've got two choices, buy another, hope it works and send to bogus one back in a dishonest switch-around and take a full on strike against my personal integrity and honesty OR I see how it goes from here by posting my situation as such in order to see what streamlite themselves will do to an ardent customer of their serious quality products and I mean do mean that but just not with this one and I'm certain this situation is to be blamed on streamlite themselves but rather a stocked for too long product and a periodic battery that just wants to not wanna work after hardly 10 hours of use. I love the difference in lumens this light has but it's a little bulky having it hang from my T shirt or wife beater but great to have in my bag and CERTAINLY useful to have when my other two 250 lumen micro steam lights are either on charge or being toyed with by my kids. I doubt this review will remain 1 star for long because streamlite is just that good and I know it so let's see if any of those other negative reviews have any merit to them because, I'm not sure.

  • Nice small light. Title says comes with batteries, mine was plastic clam shell : light only. Battery life is long due to LED. LED white, red, blue, and IR for night vision. Gave is one less star cause I think its a little over priced.

  • This is the second product I bought. Next time, I want to wear other models on my hand-gun. I'll buy it again.

I carry a Streamlight Stylus Pro every day and there have been many times where the pocket clip has gotten snagged in something and either plucked from my pocket or bent, and sometimes even both. This is due to the regular clip having a slight angle at the bottom. It's necessary to have because it allows for easy clipping onto your pocket but that makes it easier to snag. This particular clip does not have that issue because it's rounded at the bottom. This design is primarily so smaller lights can be mounted on a hat or something of that nature, but on a Stylus Pro it makes it harder to snag on something and lose it. I've included a pic of my two Stylus Pros in pocket to show a comparison. One thing to note is I received the basic clip the first time I ordered. After returning it I tried again and received the one pictured on this product page.

  • I work nights as a paramedic and this flashlight is extremely handy. Not too large so it never gets in the way. Extremely helpful to look for addresses on homes in the middle of the night (which is saying something because I'm in an ambulance shining it all the way to the front door to look for numbers). It also works great for hard sticks because it doesn't get hot on the patient's skin but shines really bright so you can see tiny veins. It goes months on one charge as well which is pretty amazing. I've had my current one for about 3 years after I lost my first one that I'd had for 2 years. Extremely important to buy a holster that fits it well as I lost my first one when I'd switched holsters and it fell out on an autoped. Definitely worth the investment!

  • I had oringinally bought this to use for nighttime trips out on my boat. It arrived, added batteries and ops checked good. Placed it in my boat storage bag in the console. Went to use it a month later while out on the water after sunset and it appears to have be obliterated. It’s a stretch to call this thing durable and I definitely wouldn’t count on it unless you plan to keep it in bubble wrap.

  • Great for using for press calls and anything in the Toolmaking trade definitely recommend also fits great in shirt pocket great value and tough as nails

It holds the flashlight so securely it’s crazy. It’s such a tight fit. 💯

  • I see a lot of people saying they got the 8a and not the x. I don't know the actual different but I got the 8XG. I upgraded from the 7x Giving a 4 star because almost $300 for a light and only 1 non chargeable battery is crazy I also don't like that there's not a separate button for the laser. If the light is on so Is the laser

  • I know my other streamlight strion did not look like this. Is this something new. I had two strions lights and one is different from the other, in addition to my review and also reading from other buyers, these are lights that law enforcement and security supposed to trust, being a streamlight flashlight customer for 3 years my first streamlight strion had no problems whatsoever no raspy worn charging contacts and overall good quality. My only complaint was that the battery died out too quickly but I would pay that kind of money for a made in the USA Product streamlight strion. I have had 4 lights total.

  • I've been a Streamlight customer for several years. Always enjoyed the quality, durability, and value. Usually their quality is inline with the cost however this has obviously changed. Upon inserting the battery and screwing on the head, I noticed it felt "crunchy" and would not screw down fully. It was NOT cross threaded. As you can see by the picture, there is an aluminum tube in the body. The top of this tube is supposed to interface with the spring retaining collar on the head to create a secure fit. The tolerances in my flashlight were sloppy and created lots of tiny aluminum shavings as the head tried to seat into the tube. The switch was also not the quality I would expect either. I can confirm the spongy feeling expressed by other reviewers as well. I thought I might have received a counterfeit but I don't believe so. This was sold and shipped from streamlightoutlet.com, all packaging seemed original, unit did function albeit briefly, battery and even USB cable are correctly branded. Once the battery was fully charged and inserted into the flashlight, it did not turn on. Yes, polarity was correctly observed. This was a huge let down. Either I got a fake or Streamlight has cut corners in their production and is no longer producing the quality hardware they're known for. Which is a shame because I wanted to support an American company. There is no excuse why we can't build the same quality stuff they build in China. And there's no excuse why streamlightoutlet.com and other retailers can't get control of their supply chains and prevent counterfeit goods from being sold. I returned this defective light and purchased an Olight instead. My most recently purchased Streamlight MicroStream also had switch issues.

  • I bought this for camping in harsh environments that require durable equipment. I like the multiple battery option, being able to run on a AA came in handy, however, after a little over 1 year of occasional use it failed internally. I pushed the button to turn on the light one night, and felt a slight click, but nothing happened, after this pushing the button felt squishy, and the light would not turn on. Of course this happened in the wilderness in the middle of the night (I had a backup). When I got back from the wilderness I contacted Streamlight Support. The Streamlight website [...] says their products have a limited lifetime warranty, however the warranty department told me the Sidewinder 2 only has a 1 year warranty. When I asked how much they would charge to repair the light they said it would cost as much as a new light. I guess limited lifetime means 1 year? Knowing that I now own an expensive piece of garbage I decided to take it apart to see if I could fix it. When I removed the 4 screws that hold the lens on to access the button that was not doing anything, what I found looked like a quality/design problem. The Micro switch that is depressed when the operator presses the button had come off the circuit board (picture attached). I don't know if this is a common thing, but I've never had this problem with a Petzl headlamp, so I think I'm going back to Petzl. If anyone from Streamlight is reading this, I wanted to like your product as you market this as something for military and industrial use, it's a terrible shame that you don't stand behind your product and I hope no one ever has the same failure I had in a situation that results in loss of human life. Marketing your product as "Made in USA" and "Limited Lifetime Warranty" should mean more than an expensive disposable piece of gear. I will never buy another one of your products. So for this price point, due to the poor support and marginal reliability I would not recommend this product.
